- We sow potatoes in our farm. We sow about an acre and a half every year and the amount doesn't vary.
The farmer prepares the ground and he doesn't manure it before he turns it up. The potatoes are sown in drills and they aren't sown in ridges. They plough the land first and then they harrow it and they plough it and they harrow it secondly and they make the drills then.
The plough is used in making the drills and the spade isn't used because it is too slow.
The wooden ploughs were used long ago but there isn't any one left now. The spades(continues on next page)
