When he came to the place where he could cross the fence, the lights went up in the air and far from the ground and they began to dance and whirl round in the air. When crossing the fence Padraig had to go down into a drain and when he got up on the other field he looked back, but there were no lights to be seen.
When Padraig realised what he had seen his courage broke and he got very much afraid he ran as fast as he could home, and when he went into the house there was no light at all and all the people were gone to bed. The rambling man did not know it was so late. It was after twelve o'clock so Padraig was not as much surprised then, and he believed in ghosts ever after, and from that time he was afraid to stay out too late also. From that day on, he never saw any other ghost because he was never found out of the house after ten o'clock, and that is the how Gárna Sídeoga was so called.
