One night this old man put down a good fire & sat beside it, till the Ague fit would pass Suddenly he heard a knock at the door. He said who is there. The answer was go to.' bed. He went into bed & he never got the ague after.

One night a man went out fishing. He brought his dog with him. Just as he was about to fish he saw a horse coming towards him on something like a horse.
The dog attacked it & the man hurried home. After a while the dog came home & when the man looked at him his whole skin was perforated from head to tail.
He died in 3 days. The man said it was the devil & that the dog saved his life.
