- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)A gentleman came riding up on horseback. When the horse reached the stream it shied and refused to cross it as it got frightened at the sight of blood.
The gentleman got angry on account of what happened, as he wanted to get away from the place quickly. In his anger he cursed the stream. This is the reason it is sometimes called Cursis [sic] Stream.Years after this occurrence a gentleman named Curtis bought Quarry Vale, Larkfield and the place named Cursis Stream.The residents of the district decided to call Cursis Stream a nicer name.
They decided to call it after Mr. Curtis, hence the name Curtis Stream.
Curtis Stream is the name by which the place is commonly known at present.Children from Curtis Stream often wrote "Cursis Stream" as their address when attending Palmerstown School.
