- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)woods of west Tirconaill. He was known as Fergus O'Donnell.
After years of wandering he was killed and was buried by some of the clans who still followed him as their leader. His remains lie in Ballymore Upper on the lands now belonging to J. Harkin. A Kieran or stone mound is built around his grave and it is said that the gold lies along with him in his last resting place.
Many antiquarians has visited this place with the object of having it dug up, but all who have interfered with it have been overtaken by some evil fate. So Fergus and his wealth are left in peace so far. An old bard has said =
What to do with her wealth,
This maid did not know.
And with it she built,
That fine castle in Doe.- Bailitheoir
