    'Twas there I spent my childhood days,
    And there to boyhood grew;
    Its mossy slopes and leafy ways,
    Full well I loved and knew!
    Bird-nesting and collecting flowers
    I've roved through brake and ben -
    Too fleeting were those happy hours
    (On) In Cregnahorna glen!
    The river 'mong the shady trees
    Meanders clear and calm;
    And woodbine fragrance scents the breeze
    On Labby and Ben-Tam
    There, wildbirds nest, and choice wild flowers
    Bloom in profusion when
    Dame Nature decks the fragrant bowers
    In Cregnahorna glen.
    There boys and girls, on Sundays eves,
    Assembled on the green,
    And danced, beneath the hazel leaves,
    Till dusk closed o'er the scene
    The echoes mocked their laughter gay-
    Long years have flown since then!
    And I, today, am far away
    From Cregnahorna glen!
