    It with the cream of the milk and use it as a ointment on affected parts.
    For a cough:
    Boil down a cupful of flaxseed and a whole lemon sliced and two table spoonfuls of brown sugar boiled for twenty minutes then strain it and take a tablespoonful every four hours.
    For a pain in the back:
    Get enough red flannel to go around the waist, put in pockets, fill them with mustard and sew them up and keep it around the waist with a safety pin.
    For a cold:
    Slice a white turnip raw and put it on a plate and put a tablespoonful of white sugar over it. Cover it up with another plate and leave it there until the juice comes from it and drink a tablespoonful of it every three hours.
