St. Patricks well in the townland of Longford. It is not a well only a stone having the track of St Patrick’s knee
Twenty years ago there were numerous coins under and round the stone. The old whitethorn bush which grew over the stone was festooned with bits of cloth, twine, shoe laces. The old bush was cut down by the owner Mr. Stoddart of Longford House. Nobody visits the well now. The water in the stone was supposed to cure sore eyes. St Brigit’s Well
