    Most marriages take place before Advent and Lent. Marriages usually take place on Mondays and Thursdays as people think that the other days are unlucky. When the intended Bride and Groom are going to get married they settle the match themselves. The Groom also has to go to his Parish Priest to arrange the day of the wedding. The people they ask to the wedding all go to the chapel where the young pair are married. Then they all go to a hotel for their wedding breakfast. Then they go away on their honeymoon for a while. Long ago when there were no motor cars the people had to walk to the Priest's house to get married also when there were no chapels the people ahd to go to the Priests house too. This was about a hundred years ago.
