St Patricks day there s a procession held in every parish with a band playing and hundred of people following them. Everybody wears something green and they also wear the shamrock.
Shrove is the time for making matches and getting married.
On Shrove Tuesday there is a market held in Mount-Bellow and all the young men brings salt in their pockets and pegs it at the young girls for to keep them good for the next year to get married.
Ash Wednesday everybody goes to the Chapel to get a Cross in their foreheads with the blessed ashes
Chalk Sunday all the young men Chalk the young girls in order that they would know them for the next year(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
