Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)given the wool a black colour. The wool was then taken out of the dye and thoroughly washed and left out to dry. When dried this wool was spun and sent to the local weaver and made into flannel.
- Long ago there was no soap except the soap people made themselves.
Soap was made in the following manner. Some water was boiled into which a certain amount of soda was put. Next suet cut finely was added to the water when boiling.
The mixture was left boiling for a few hours and stirred occasionally.
When boiled it was thick and was then allowed to cool. When cold it was cut in squares and used as required. In every village there was a mad who carried on this trade as a soap maker- Bailitheoir
