    sore eyes. The forge in Bromore is situated about a 1/2 mile from Kilconly cross roads. The forges have thatched roofs on them. In some forges the door is made like a horse shoe. The smiths shoe horses and donkeys and ponies. Some of the smiths make ploughs and others only mend them. The smith uses a hammer and a sledge when he is working. Smiths were greatly honored by the people in days gone by.
