  1. About 80 years ago there lived a family of a place called Druim, Milltown, Co. Galway. This family consisted of a father, mother and baby boy.
On their farm, about 100 yards from their home, was a little cabin in which lived an old woman. Biddy Duffy.
Outside her door, over a water passage, was a large flag. Now flags are and were very scarce in this locality.
On the opposite side of the road from Biddy's house were the ruins of a small Catholic Church.
Now Biddy died and the farmer, fearing that the flag would be stolen now that there was no further use for it there, took it to his home and put it under the baby's bed in the bed room for safety. That night the baby became suddenly ill. The mother tried all home remedies but the baby seemed to grow worse rather than better, and she could not understand how it became ill so suddenly, being so healthy up to that time. Next day she sent for her sister who lived next door to see if she could help. The sister came, pulled down the bed.
