- My father told me the following story which he got from a Mac Carthy man who resides in Cahereighterrush.Long ago there two brothers living not far from each other. One of them was rich and the other was poor. One day the poor man went into the rich man's house to get food. His sister-in-law was inside and there was yellow-meal porridge boiling on the fire and when it was boiled she gave the thickest part of it to the calves and she gave the thinnest part of it to the poor man.Then the poor man went home very insulted and vexed. He met a friend of his on the road and told him to come over to his house the next evening. His friend came to the poor man's house and when he was inside for a while the poor man said - "Come on." "Where are you going"? said his friend. "Do not mind said the poor(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
