- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Goods were bartered in this district. There are eggs still given for goods. When a tinker is exchanging an ass with another he gets money with the exchanging called "boot". The money you get back after buying anything is called change. People did consider it unlucky to transact business on Hansel Monday or on New Year's day. The markets were held in the streets of the towns and they are still held there. Dealers in feathers and rags used to visit this district in former times but they do not come now. The fourpence piece, the five shilling and four shilling piece, the sovereign and half sovereign are all gone out of use.
