- There is a story told about a man who lived near the sea at Westport some years ago.
One evening he was walking along by the sea shore and he came upon a beautiful woman that was sitting on a rock combing her hair, she had a hair net behind her on the rock. The man went up and stole the hair net. But the merry-maid saw him and she ran after him to where he lived. She followed him into the house, and he threw it up on a loft.(continues on next page)
