    A Fair Day
    Today is the best cattle fair day of the year in Ballinasloe and the streets are crowded with people. It is now eight o'clock and I am standing in the Fair Green for the last hour. The streets and Fair Green are a bable of noise with the lowing of the cattle, the bleating of the sheep, the screeching of pigs, the squealing of bonhams and the whinning of the horses.
    Around me I see the farmers in charge of their cattle doing their best to keep them together. The buyers are going from one group
