    The maid, unobserved by King OConnor, walked across the room, placed the lighted candle in the window opposite the King, drew the blinds on the other windows of the room and quickly left the King's apartment. A few minutes elapsed - the roar of a Canon was heard and King OConnor's head was severed from his body.
    There was a song composed on his death
    Seamus O Hoca 'tis you did betray
    And left us in bondage 'till this very day.
    etc. etc
    After the Bawn at Ballintubber had fallen into ruins there were held each year in the grounds surrounding
    The Bawn ____ A Pattern. Hand-ball Matches and other games.
    Ballintubber was known for its great Annual Horse fair.
