- Local marriage customs.
In olden times most of the people used to get married in chosen months which was mostly the month of January. The old people said it was unlucky to get married in the month of May.
The men at the time used to come and steal away their wifes and bring them to a friends and leave them there and afterwards get married. There was money and stock given.
The dragon home was held in the evening. The wifes used to sit on the horses with their husbands. When they arrived home supper would be prepared of pots of boiled potatoes, cabbage and meat.(continues on next page)- Collector
