    were used was flour, aotmeal, salt, soda, and water.
    There was no milk used. Bread was baked daily. The people used to put the shape of a ross on top of the cake when made.
    The names of the vessels that baked those were oven, pan and griddle.
    Oaten bread was baked standing against a support in front of the fire. The name of the support was a sod of turf and sometimes a gridiron. The gridiron was made of wood and an iron hoop for the bread to stand on. The people baked flour-bread on a griddle.
