- There were a few types of work carried on long ago. such as basket making leather making wood work whip making and forge work.
Basket making was carried on near Ballyhaunis, leather saddles[?] near Dunmore, wood work in Claremorris forge work in Logroe Claremorris and Crimlin. There were spades[?] gates ploughs and fire cranes made in the forge also. Spinning and weaving was carried on also.
