- All the famers in this district so potatoes every year. First the land is ploughed and ridges are made. The land is ploughed with a plough. Then the ridges are settled with a spade.
The potatoes are slit and holes are made in the ridges with a spade and a slit isput in every hold. Then the holes are closed. Manure is then put out on the ridges with a horse and cart. The dykes are then ploughed and the manure is covered with clay.
