  1. About eighty years ago the story I am going to relate happened in the village of Larganboy. At that time the men were very fond of card-playing. They used to assemble at a neighbour's house every night and sometimes they would be playing cards till midnight.
    One Sunday night they went into a house and stayed playing till half-past eleven. When they were going home the woman of the house laid her hand on her nephew's shoulder and told to him to for a cup of tea, as tea was only new that time. It was midnight when he left his
