    what height he jumped but he could beat any man for miles around. This man also went sixteen yards in a hop, step and jump.
    A scholar from Bekan school whose name was Judge did a remarkable feat. With half a hundred weight in each hand he jumped over a table. Judge was not born in Bekan but he was reared here. When a young boy he was anxious to study for the priesthood and he came to Mr. Doyle, a Latin teacher in Bekan and stayed with him. Another man born in Shotfield whose name was Kelly tried the same feat but landed on the middle of the table and broke it with the weight.
