    in the same way. When the stalks are up well, they are sprayed.
    They are dug after that and put into a hole in the field. During the winter they are brought in out of the field by degrees.
    The commonest names of potatoes are: Aran, Banner, Iris Queens, Up-to-dates, Champions, King Edwards, Epicures and Kerr Pinks. The potatoes that are ripe at the end of July are Early Roses and Epicures. These early potatoes are sown in a garden and a spade is used instead of a plough.
