    a piece of iron and a ring in it and a chain fastened to it and the chain can be pulled up and down. The name for the cow house is byre.
    When cows are wild a rope is tied from the foot and horn of the cow. The chains for tying the cows are not home made but bought in a shop. The various forms of tying were Burai's, Sidelangs and spanshels. When any one is milking and one to come in he chould say "God bless the work". when people used be milking they used to put the milk in two parts
