- On Hallow-Eve all the people gather around the fire and tell stories. The very old people usually tell fairy tales about Hallow-Eve. They have an old custom not to close the door that night for one hour. If it bursts open they believe it is their friends and the souls in Purgatory coming to the door asking them for prayers.
It is said that all the souls in Purgatory are permitted to leave it on that night and to go to the doors of their friends asking their prayers, and to make known to them that they are spirits on this earth doing penance for their sins.On that night also the children play games of their own,(continues on next page)- Collector
