  1. Forts were underground places of concealment in ancient times. It is not rightly known by whom those forts were built, but it is said that they were built long before the Danes or Barbarians invaded Ireland. Pagans were supposed to live in those forts.
    In this Parish we have some underground forts. In the village of Lisduff there is an entrance of three feet high until you go on about fifty feet, then the roof [isn't]? quite high enough for a
