A Song - Tragic Occurrence at Loch Coggeen - December 20 1896 (continued)
“You feeling hearted Christians I hope you will drawnear”
(continued from previous page)How little did his parents think, he cd meet his death so soon,
7. The day of their sad funeral it was a mournful sight,
Four & twenty clergy leading & they all dressed out in white,
The "Temperance Band" the dead march played the procession slow moved on,
While the mourners shed a silent tear, their loved ones now were gone,
8. How to conclude those sorrowful lines, all you that's standing by,
Implore the Blessed Virgin & her son Who rules on high,
For to give mercy to their Souls, let all you Christians pray,
I hope the Lord may pardon them, upon the judgement day.- Collector
