    Sometimes the people used to put down a big fire and when the hearth would be red hot they used to sweep it and leave down the bread on the hot stones and thus it was baked in this way.
    They used also bake it in a wooden box beside the fire. This box had not lid on it and the heat of the fire baked the bread.
