    One time long ago a farmer lived near a lake in Northern Ireland.

    lake to listen. When she had finished singing the salmon said he was very sorry she was blind. The salmon told her to get the skin of a fish and rut it on her eyes and then she would be no longer blind.
    When evening came the father came to take the girl home. On the way home she told him what the salmon told her.
    Next day he went fishing to the lake. After fishing some time he felt a pull at his line, and the fishing rod began to bend. He pulled with all his strength and he caught a salmon. He took it home and rubbed it on the girl's eyes and she was immediately cured.
