The was another man listening when our Saviour said that the blind man had gold and silver. It was a wicked plunderer who was in it, but he knew that our Saviour never told a lie. As soon as He and St. Peter were gone, the robber came to the blind man, and said to him, “give me your gold and your silver or I will put a knife through your heart.” I have no gold or silver,” said the blind man, “If I had I would not be asking for alms” But, with that, the robber caught a hold of him, put him under him, and took from him all he had. The blind man shouted and screamed as loud as he could and our Saviour and St Peter heard him. There is wrong being done to the blind man,” said Peter, Get treacherous and it will go the same way,” said our savior
