Nuts and apples are eaten on Hallow Eve. Mashed potatoes are made that day too. Bonfires are lit on 23rd June. - The first Sunday of Lent is called Smut - Sunday. The call it this for the girls who did not get married before (before) Lent are supposed to have a "smut" on them this Sunday.
On St Bridget's eve the people from this district go out and gather rushes and on that night every person makes a pot of poundies and places the rushes under the pot when pounding(continues on next page)- Collector
