- One day a man was out fishing and he caught a mermaid. This man brought her home, and he took of the fishes tail. He got married to her, and she had a lot of beautiful children and they were very good singers. He kept her fishes tail in a box and would not give it to her. One day when he was in a fair, she got her fish’s tail and went back to the sea, and she was never seen any more. She left all the children behind her.
Once upon a time there was a man who had cattle on an island. One morning he went to look about the cattle and he saw a mermaid sitting on a rock combing her hair. She never saw the man until(continues on next page)- Collector
