The man, with the money box enters and gives the box a shake to make a great sound of money in it, He says
"Here comes I, Devil doubt,
With my long copper snout,
Money I want, money I crave,
If you don't give me money,
I'll sweep you all to your grave."
The whole things ends with a song
About a night or two before Xmas, the mummers meet, and distribute the money collected between one another. They spend it on cigarettes or other Xmas fare. - On Shrove Tuesday in this locality pancakes are made in almost every house.
