- Long ago there lived a King who had three sons. One was a very good obedient boy to his father and the other two were very selfish. One day the King and the three sons were out hunting in the woods when they heard a bird singing. They spent such a long time listening to the bird that messengers came from the King's palace looking for them. The King was so fond of the bird that he said to his three sons that he wold give any of them his kingdom if they would bring the bird to him. A little fairy man appeared to them and said that he would help them to find the bird. He said to one of the sons "Go a long distance until you meet a lovely palace knock and ask the prince who lives there for the loan of his green-haired horse. He will lend him as soon as you ask and do exactly what the horse tells you". He was very thankful to the fairy and started off to the palace. The prince agreed to give him the green-haired horse. The horse said I know you are looking for the beautiful(continues on next page)
