- (continued from previous page)now owned by a Mr. and Miss Morgan who came to Moville from Birkenhead. There are no relation to Evans. There were evictions in this district. The neighbours who were not evicted took it in the evicted people. The farms are sub-divided among the members of the family on marriage. The tenants were punished for small offences. Dues for the Catholic Clergy were collected in this district in former years. They were collected for the upkeep of the priests. My grandfather used to collect them. He went round the district with his horse and cart. The people would give him sheaves of corn instead of money.
- The Markets were held in the Market House in Moville. They are still held in that place. Men used to go round with cartloads of delph and they would give bowls and cups in(continues on next page)
