24th FebruaryIn the olden times the people used to eat oatmeal bread, and wheatmeal bread. They used to grow oats and send it to the mill to be ground. Then they added water to the pats and baked it on a griddle. When it was baked it was very hard.
These people also ate wheat-meal bread. They grew wheat and sent it to the mill to be ground. Then they added flour and milk to it and also put it on the griddle. When this was baked it was much softer but the people would rather have the oatmeal bread although it was hard.Lillie Gough
