- Making Baskets
The making of baskets was a very common trade in the village of Teeragh about forty-five years ago. This is how they used to make them.
They used to boil sally rods in a pot of water and peel the shin off them.
Then they used to weave them in the from of a basket. These baskets were used for carrying turf and potatoes. Some of the people who used to make them were Pat Burke and Bartly Hanly, Teeragh, Caherlistrane, Co. Galway. They and both dead.- Collector
