On the 25th March 1927 as John Henry Corcom, Shop Street, Tuam and a few of his comrades were hunting with four hounds in Clare-Tuam they rose a hare. The hare crossed the river Clare and the hounds followed him. The men then tried to jump it but they were all afraid except Corcom. He said that he would jump it. He backed back and he leaped from the edge of the water. He knew that he would land in the middle of the river when he was about to land on the water and he rose again and he reached the other bank.- Collector
