- There was once an Eascú Nimhe in a river. She was so big that the ships were unable to pass so they tried to shoot her. The ships had to stop for weeks and weeks. A terrible crowd of people gathered to see this Eascú Nimhe. A red haired guard came to shoot her. The Eascú Nimhe came into the brink and with a blow of her tail she brought the man into the river and brought him away in her mouth. The people were able to bring their ships up the river then after that.Transcribed by a member of our volunteer transcription project.
