    lodging in the different houses. He was paid by getting rolls of butter, eggs, oatmeal, bread, and other things from the children parents.
    The subjects taught were Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, and History. The pupils wrote on slates and parchment. The pupils used to bring a few turf and place them on ground. They used to put a piece of wood on top and this was their seat.
    The teacher used to stay three months in each district.
