- There are two holy wells in my Parish. One well is in Tullaghan in the townland of Bunduff. It is called Saint Patrick's well. There is another well in Gubercreeney. This well is called Saint Marshal's well.
Many people still visit Saint Patrick's well on the seventeenth of March in honour of Saint Patrick. It is said that a man who had warts on his face was cured at this well, and when he awoke in the morning he found the warts on his pillow. This well is not recommended for the curing of any special disease. No relics are left behind at the well. Persons who go to the well take some water in a bottle with them.
Every year an offering of money is given at the well for the upkeep of the place.(continues on next page)- Collector
