New Year's day is the first of January and the first of the New year. All of the poeple go to Mass on this day to greet the New Year. Some years ago the poeple never put out the ashes on this day or threw out dirty water as they asid it was not lucky.
St. Bridgid's day is the first of February. On St.Brigid's Eve the poepple make crosses out of rushes. They then put them up in the roof of the house, and they are left there until St. Bridgid's Eve again.
St. Patricks day is on the 17th of March. The 18th of March is a set day of starting the potatoes. On St. Patrick's day the people wear a shamrock because with this little pplant St.Patrick taught the "True Faith" and that there were three persons on their hair.
Next comes Easter Sunday and real day for the children. They gather together and light a big fire and boil a hgreat number of eggs. On thsi day there is no value left on a few eggs. They eat some for every meal.
