Long ago when people had to travel four or five to Manner-Hamilton as there were no country shops as there are nowadays. sometimes they had to travel to Sligo which is about twenty miles from here. They carried with them a firkin of butter which contained about ninty pounds. On their return they carried about half a hundred of groceries wich did them for a week.
When a person is dead on that district there is generally no work done only shufling about the house.
When a beast is sold there is generally a few shillings gave back as a luck penny.
