  1. The Bonet is a very beautiful winding river which flows into Lough Gill. O'Rourke's castle is built on the bank of the river where Brian O'Rourke lived long ago. The road which leads from Dromahair to Sligo is steamrolled and on this road there is a dangerous turn in the road and it is known as 'Sir Roger's Point'. This point is looked upon as being a very dangerous place. About three years ago a man named Fahen was coming from Dromahair in a car. The man lost control of his car and it went across the wall. Luckily enough the car got caught in a bush. The man was rescued but I do not know how he was rescued.
On Lough Gill about eighty five years ago a large boat used ply daily from Dromahair to Sligo with goods and this boat was known as the "Maid of Breffney". When the railway line was made from Dromahair to Sligo goods were carried cheaper by train and then the boat was no longer in use. A regatta is held on Lough Gill annually.
