- Marriages most frequently occur during shrove or shrove Tuesday. There are not any beliefs about months - days being lucky or unlucky. There are not any beliefs customes connected with shrove. Matches are still made + money + stock are given as dowry. On the wedding day the friends of the bride + groom go in motor cars to some large town where breakfast or lunch is ordered. It is seldom that a wedding-feast is held + if so it is held in the bride's home. In the Country districts, Straw boys visit the houses. They wear hats made from straw + their clothes disguised + have musical instruments with them, when they reach the house they go inside + play + dance especialy with the married couple. They are usually well-behaved + do not demand money or beverages. The hauling home is not done nowadays, neither do those attending the wedding race against each other. It is motor cars which are used now.
