    country killing the Catholics and when he came as far as Garret Forde's castle he killed the Chieftain but his two daughters escaped and cmae to the convent at Gubb. They were living there for a good while when Cromwell's soldiers heard about them. The soldiers came to the convent and killed the two girls and the nuns also. In 1831 there was a church built in borglass by Father, Tom Maguire. In 1904 the church was knocked and another church was built in its place.
