- (continued from previous page)Eden, was one of the best in basket-making in this Parish of Ballinaglera. He died a few years ago.
- About forty years ago there was a handy man in this parish, he could make anything as far as wood was concerned.
He was called a cooper, and his name was Mr Govern. He used to make churns, tubs, firkins, barrels, chairs, tables, loyshafts, presses, stools, windows, doors, carts, desks and troughs.
He was doing a good trade. He did not charge much for the work he did. He had no one in the house but himself.
He had some land but he was unable to work it, because he had a broken leg.
The people for whom he did a handy job usually did the work on the land.(continues on next page)
