A sore-throat is cured by putting heated salt or roasted potatoes broken up into a woolen stocking and putting it against the throat.
A pain in the ear is cured by putting a drop of castor oil and a little piece of cotton wool into the ear. A piece of white bacon steeped in hot water is good for a sore on which there is a scab because it softens the scab and the sore heals up quickly.- Collector
